Visit the us for an exciting three-part senior summer series for adults presented in partnership by the Huron-Clinton Metroparks and the Detroit Zoological Society.

Learn about Michigan mammals, birds, reptiles and amphibians from Huron-Clinton Metroparks, Belle Isle Nature Center and Detroit Zoo experts and discover how you can support wildlife in your neighborhood.

June 6 with HCMA (Metroparks): Mammals

Marvelous Michigan Mammals: Michigan is home to a variety of mammals!  Using skins, mounts, and skulls we can see unique adaptations, anatomy, and the diversity of species in our state.

July 11 with BINC (Belle Isle Nature Center): Birds

Birds In Your Back Yard: Embark on an exhilarating journey into the world of birds that call Macomb County home. This program is designed to provide seniors with a unique and enriching experience centered around birds and includes an optional bird-watching walk after the presentation.

August 15 with Detroit Zoo: Herpetology

Cold-Blooded Quest: From the serene waters of the Great Lakes to the dense forests and sprawling meadows, Michigan harbors a remarkable array of cold-blooded inhabitants waiting to be discovered. Join us as we delve into the fascinating world of Michigan's reptiles and amphibians, from the iconic Eastern Massasauga Rattlesnake to the elusive mud-puppy.
