CMPL Memory Cafe

A Memory Cafe offers a place where people living with dementia and their care partners can socialize and connect with others in similar situations.

Here at CMPL, we offer a short, themed learning experience followed by refreshments and time for chatting.

Spring and Summer dates and themes include: 

• May 4 @ Main : Learn about herbs with David Lowenstein, Consumer Horticulture Educator from Michigan State Extension office, then pot a plant to take home using seeds from CMPL’s seed library.
• June 1 @ South : Explore poetry! We will listen to poems read aloud, then write our own poems using the five senses.
• July 6 @ Main: Pianist and teacher Paige Broadworth visits to share music and movement.
• August 3 @ South: Celebrate National Ice Cream Day (annually the 3rd weekend in July) at the library with a blind taste test! We'll sample a variety of flavors from national and local brands guess which kind is which and rank our favorites.
